Samsung enhances 'Full Touch Portfolio' with Samsung Champ (C330) and Omnia Lite (B7300)

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Leading mobile phone provider, Samsung Electronics today announced the enhancement of its touch screen range by launching Samsung Champ, its affordable full –touch mobile phone which can function as a Music Player and Omnia Lite, its all-in-one Windows 6.5 Pro based touch screen phone.

With the launch of these two new touch screen phones, Samsung’s Touch portfolio now boasts of 23 models across multiple price points offering superior functionality and experience to consumers.

Samsung Champ (C3303) is the first full touch mobile which can function as an enhanced Music Player with a 3.5mm ear jack and dual speakers. The Sound Alive 3D effects in the handset produces amazing sound quality for an enriched audio experience in the earphones.

The phone’s Wireless FM lets users access FM radio without needing to pull out a bulky antenna and the 30 MB internal memory, expandable upto 8GB, allows users to store music of their choice. The overall aesthetic appeal of the Champ is further enhanced with its crystal design and a curved body which provides an ergonomic grip.

The full-touch experience of the Samsung Champ is further accentuated with a 2.4” QVGA touch screen, 3 page extended menu, Touchwiz Lite 2.0 and the Stylus Pen for handy touch experience. Users can customize home screen upto 7 pages and highlight the widgets and applications that they would like to use. Popular widgets include the clock, calendar, my buddies and shortcuts.

The phone also offers great connectivity to top 7 SNS sites like Facebook, MySpace, Photobucket, Flickr, Friendster, Picassa, and Twitter. Users can upload photos to their favourite SNS sites through Samsung Communities and download exciting content from Samsung Apps. Samsung Champ supports Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0.

In addition, the handset comes equipped with VGA Camera and Image Editor, Advanced Mobile Tracker, SOS Message. The handset has 1000 phonebook and 500 SMS memory and a 1000 mAh memory, which offers 12 hours of talk time. The Samsung Champ is priced at Rs. 4,500.

Based on Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro Edge, Samsung Omnia Lite brings together style, multimedia and business performance in one device. With Windows 6.5 Pro Edge, users can experience a True Mobile on their phone – they can view, edit MS Word, MS Excel, Powerpoint slides and view pdf files and can also enjoy MS Exchange Server Push e-mail.

Push email with Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus NoteTraveler support automatic email updates while the user friendly , touch optimized inbox lets the users access emails without a stylus. The MS Active Sync facilitates a seamless sync between the PC and Mobile while the Windows Open OS opens-up a whole new world of applications and games to the users.

The advanced Touch wiz 2.0 UI is simple, graphically rich and finger friendly. The Opera Browser lets the user browse the net 2.5 times faster than Internet Mobile Explorer while the 3G connectivity allows users to load documents, songs, photos and more in seconds. Also users will love the convenience of connecting to instant messaging and SNS, with just one touch.

The one finger zoom of the Omnia Lite enlarges or minimizes pages with just a thumb. Omnia Lite is also preinstalled with online widgets like weather, news search and stock. With DLNA, users can wirelessly send and receive media to other DLNA enabled devices for maximum viewing flexibility. In addition, the 3 MP camera and 3D photo album further makes browsing through photos easy and fun.

The mammoth 250 MB internal memory of the Omnia Lite is expandable to another 32GB and the 1500 mAH battery provides talktime upto 10 hours. The Samsung Omnia Lite (B7300) is priced at Rs. 17,560. With the launch of Samsung Omnia Lite and Champ, the Samsung Touchscreen portfolio is now priced at a range of Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 40,000.
